Monument "Glory to Work"

A massive dolomite monument known as "Glory to Work" stands by the promenade in Kohtla-Järve's Järve District. This memorial is popularly known as "Two Sober Miners".

The monument was completed in 1967 in collaboration with sculptor Olav Männi and architect Udu Ivask. It was originally called "Shoulder by Shoulder", but on the recommendation of the district party committee, it was named "Glory to Work" instead.

The location is symbolic, as the first oil shale quarry was located in Kohtla-Järve.
